DON'T MISS OUT: Beginning this spring, parents will be able to register online for the 2017-2018 school year! A new online fee/payment system will also become available. Parents must have an online Parent Portal account created to access both of these new additions. Click here to create your account, or visit Freda Markley's office for help so you can be ready when these systems go live!
Looking for something to do during Spring Break? On March 14, the Blue Ridge Mid-Continent Public Library will host the KC Zoomobile: Amazing Amphibians at 10:00 a.m. Explore the amazing world of amphibians with a story revealing facts about amphibian habitats and adaptations. Then meet two or three of the Kansas City Zoo's amphibian animal ambassadors. Ages 5 and up. Learn more at the library, (816) 761-3382.
PARENTS: No parent can be completely prepared for every trial and tribulation of raising a child - especially in our fast-paced world. HMC-1 wants to know what you as a parent would like more information and advice on. Please take our short survey to help decide what topis will be discussed at our upcoming Parent University, April 4th.
NEW HARASSMENT & BULLYING POLICY POSTED: Important information related to changes in Missouri criminal codes has been posted to the District's website. These changes may have an impact on students in the HMC-1 community. The purpose behind the new laws is to protect students who fall victim to bullying and to discourage students from engaging in any sort of physical altercations.
As of January 1, 2017, substantial revisions to some of the Missouri criminal codes took effect. Please see the newly posted policy for details and answers to frequently asked questions.
ATTENTION PARENTS: Mark your calendars! Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences will be on Wednesday, February 15th from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Thursday, February 16th from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Your student's teacher will be in touch with you soon regarding scheduling a day and time!
Freda Markley needs feedback from our parents! Please take the “Advance ED” survey available online and provide your opinions and ideas on how the district should move forward with this important work. Your opinion is vital to us, as it tells us what is important to you as a parent/guardian in the district. Your responses to the survey will remain anonymous as your honest opinions are needed. The survey will be available until November 23.
